Introductions

Hello I’m John – I am a Senior Consultant, with a strong background as a Senior Systems Engineer and our company is based out of Arizona but that just means we can get to you no matter where you are (PHX) airport.

You might be wondering “Who is John and what makes him so special when it comes to being a Senior Organizational Development Specialist or a Senior Systems Engineer?”

Let me give you a little bit of my background and maybe that will answer some of your questions. I was a kid from New York that found their way through the streets and into the gangs except when it was football season, then you could find me at practice, well till a knock on the door and I was called on. Well one day that all caught up to me and I was standing before the Judge with violations of two counts of grand theft auto that I was on probation for as a youth (under 16), I still had a year to go. and was facing armed robbery. The only choice was to go into the United States Marine Corps or go to trial. Well my choice was to go into the USMC. My best friend decided to take his chances and went away for seven years.

I learned a lot in the years to come, my records were sealed and I scored high on my entry test, so I was sent back to finish the last couple of credits I needed to graduate High School, I graduated from Escondido High in a Marine Corps Detachment. Then went to Ground Radio Repair School, which was only the beginning of my love for learning. I held four different Military Occupations all technical in nature completed my degree in Computer Science. I was a true Marine operating in every climb and place learning from people from all over the work. I achieved the rank of Staff Sargent (E-6) and led a team of 26 technical personnel. Went to a ton of classes on leadership, the types of leadership and this is where I began to want to help other leaders understand the mechanics of being a leader. It wasn’t long after I was injured and was medically discharged.

When I left the Marine Corps I went to work for TRW Space and Technology as a Team Lead on Classified Satellites Integration and Deployment, I used a lot of the same principles that I had learned in the Marine Corps with my Team and held Team Building workshops throughout TRW classified satellite division during my tenure there. I then went to Rockwell Space Division where I worked on, at the time it was called NAV-STAR but today its called GPS integration and launch satellites. Again I was recruited to do internal Team Building exercise’s to assist in building a cohesive Integration and Test Team.

Next stop the Federal Aviation Administration twenty four years of service, this is where my career in both fields took off, literally. Starting as a Radar Specialist and then moving into Learning and Development as a Proficiency Development Specialist (PDS) where I traveled throughout the mid-west training on various systems, testing proficiency. I led the agencies efforts in the Great Lakes Region to teach from the bottom up Employee Involvement process. Which included Organizational Decision making through the use of Consensus. Round Table Leadership. I was a Regional Internal Consultant Trained in Advanced Facilitation and Mediation. EEO Mediation and case reduction for the Mid-West area. I then was selected to be a National Consultant where I performed those duties and more at the National Level of leadership and held a Seat on the Department of Transportation Leadership Team.

After retiring from the Federal Aviation Administration my phone wouldn’t stop ringing, so I went the route to starting my own L.L.C. and continue to work and help leaders grow in this very challenging area of growth.
